News update for July

I’m busy working on my other series this month as my project for Camp NaNoWriMo, but I will find time to set up the new paperback of The Traveler in Black and White, now that we have the final cover.  I’ve driven Danielle crazy, but that’s the problem of replacing a cover you really like.

The other books are all ready in paperback and I’ve just updated Pirates and Lost City to get rid of spurious printer marks (blocks replacing special characters in the wordprocessing file).

You may remember I entered Bravo Victor in the Kindle Book Awards… it didn’t get through to the semi-final.  I like it, though; it’s just not your prize-winning type of book.

Comments on the new Traveler cover welcome!

Traveler entered for Shelf book awards

Traveler - original cover

The Traveler in Black and White has been entered for the Shelf Media Group’s Independently Published Book Award 2014.  Five winners will be featured in the January edition of Shelf Unbound.  There is no need to enter it in any category, so that decision leaves it being judged for itself, I think, rather than being judged against others in its category – which I can never decide.

Entries close 1st October and we should hear the outcome in November.

Bravo Victor was not selected as a finalist in any of the competitions it was entered for, although I think it should have at least made the cut for illustrations.  Maybe I’m biased.

If you haven’t entered the September for Sequels Giveaway yet, you’ve got about 24 hours to do so.  You could win one of these sparkling ebooks!

Will Bravo Victor win a prize?

I’ve entered Bravo Victor in a competition for Best Book Cover.  The competition is run by BookGoodies, and they have a number of categories – it seemed best to put Bravo Victor in the YA category targeted for readers under 18.

We won’t know until the end of July whether it has passed the first round, but if it does, it will be open for public voting throughout August, with the winners announced after that.

You can look at all the entries here.

Watch this space to see whether it gets selected, and if so, how you can vote for it!
