Chapter Illustrations for Bravo Victor

I’m pleased to report that the chapter illustrations are now complete.   There are three that are repeats from previous books (can you spot them?), and one from Fred’s short story last Christmas, which are now included below.  I was having trouble with the one that is basically a chapter describing a banquet.  I was too scared to draw anything really elaborate!

I think I’m most pleased with the view of Castle Marsh from the dunes track which is for chapter 19.  It came out exactly as I envisage it – probably inspired by a trip over to Winterton Dunes last Monday.

These now have their chapter labels and titles.

Bravo Victor cover revealed

The cover of Bravo Victor was revealed to the world last week as part of my A to Z April Blogging Challenge.  You can see it here along with the giveaway.  You’ll also now see  items in the menus for Bravo Victor, giving the description of the book.  I’m having trouble with the menu system, but it’s there, at least, if not perfectly displayed.

I’ll be adding the chapter illustrations over the next couple of weeks – you’ll be the first to see them.  I now have a kindle file without those illustrations – if you’d like to read and review it as an ARC, leave a message below.

Bravo Victor – not long now

Bravo Victor sneak peek

The big news of the week is that I’ve finished the main post-editor edit and prepared the advance copies in pdf format for my friendly readers!  I expect there’ll be some more tweaks and I need to read it through again in a few days to make sure that Victor (the narrator) has still got his own ‘voice’.  Sometimes I think my editor makes him too grammatically perfect.  She certainly tried to improve Fred’s grammar, which I didn’t allow; king or not, he speaks his own way!

The cover is nearly ready too – there is a sneak peek for you in the heading of this post.  It’s scheduled to be posted on my blog on April 2nd – along with a giveaway that will last all month.  Watch out for that as there are some fab prizes.

If you have read books 1-4 and you are keen to read and review Bravo Victor for me, then leave a comment and I’ll get a pdf to you.  Thanks!

Progress Report

It’s been a quiet month on here, but it’s been a very busy one for me.  I’m getting ready for the launch of Bravo Victor, the A to Z Challenge, and some other events later on.

I’m pleased to tell you that my editor has returned the manuscript of Bravo Victor – covered in red lines and blue suggestions, but then, that’s what she’s good at!  Also I’ve had the first rough draft ideas from my cover designer, Danielle English, who is starting to get work from other authors, which is very nice!  We’re planning to reveal the cover to the world on April 2nd, so watch this space.

The other books are not being neglected.  The trilogy is being featured over three months from the beginning of April on Mother Daughter Book Reviews.  They are also prizes in a blog hop “Leap into Books” running Feb 28th to March 7th on jemimapett.com.  There will also be a giveaway during April on the blog.
